Description |
I built this one from various fender parts. The goal was I was after the simplicity of the P's tone with a Jazz neck.
The neck is one of those 'Fender Replacement',
manufactured to 1962 Jazz Bass specifications,
including the thinner frets, slab rosewood fretboard
and vintage finish. It's my understanding that
Fender has discontinued manufacturing these. It
has the reverse style tuners. The body is a USA
Standard. It came with the Pearloid pickguard
and the Fender Original Precision Bass® Pickup
used in Custom Shop and reissues. The bridge is
a Gotoh G201c (replaced the Badass II in the photo).
The strings are Thomastik Infeld JR-344 Jazz Bass
roundwounds.
...and, it's red!
As of 2010, I no longer own this bass. The neck
is now used on a Japanese Jazz Bass Special body
which can be found here. This body and the pick
ups are in someone else's hands. |
